Rough Cut Analysis

  • 0 - 20 seconds
The first 20 seconds of our rough cut music video to Jessie J's Who You Are, introduce our pop artist, Diavian. However after watching or rough cut in a more analytical sense I realise that the first character introduced to our audience is in fact our actress, Angie, rather than our artist. This may be misleading for our audience and lead them to believe that Angie is our artist.

  • 21 - 42 seconds
In the next 21 seconds of our video, I realise we have a very small selection of videos of our artist singing the song. It comes across as though Emily is another character in our story line rather than our artist ad the center of attention. We need to include shots of Emily alone 'singing.'

  • 43 seconds - 1.15
This part of our music video is the first introduction of our chorus. The beginning scene of the chorus is out of sync and the beat and lip syncing do not match, so we need to touch up the editing. Secondly, we bring in our actress Angie in to the chorus. Although Emily (Diavian) is lip syncing during these scenes, it is perhaps unnecessary to include our actress in the chorus when we are trying to project a clear verse, chorus structure. Having said that, I do like the last scene of the chorus at 1.08 where Angie drops on the floor, I feel it introduces the second verse nicely.

  • 1.16 - 1.39
I like these scenes, the illustrating style of Angie brushing her hair when the lyrics are "Brushing my hair, do I look perfect" perfectly convey our amplification structure. Also, Emily's (Diavian) lip syncing is good and well edited to the beat.

  • 1.40 onwards
This has not yet been edited, so pay no mind to the out of sync beat's and un-rendered clips.
