Reflecting back on the AS year- Lip synch

Lip Synch
At the beginning I found it challenging to edit the footage and make it into a music video. The lip synching tutorial was helpful but I felt I had to keep on practising. Eventually I improved and so I was able to do some of the lip synching for our video. I think that a music video needs a lot more editing than a film specially as the lip synching has to be 'spot on' in order to make a good music video. It can be quite frustrating when the lip synching is inaccurate but with practice a very good lip synch can be done!
The skills I've learned from the lip synch tutorial:
  • The video has to be edited to the beat of the song. This is so that the video can flow well and not seem 'jumpy'
  • Be very accurate with the lip synch-take a part of the footage and adapt the lyrics to it so that it flows well.
This is a screen grab of when we began to edit our footage. Through the red dots it can be seen that we have edited our video to the beat.

Screen grab when making the music video
This is a screen grab of the lip synch. I believe that our group managed to do this very well. It was hard at first but we gradually improved and so managed to produce a good video for people who have never done any activities related to lip synching.

This was our final music video, we were happy with it but I think that when we do our final video we now know what to do and not to do.
