Analysis of 3 magazine advertisments within a similar genre as our artist

  1. Pixie Lott

Pixie Lott's magazine advertisement for her debut album Turn It Up is very simple. The rhetorical question 'Are you listening to Cry Me Out' stands out and subliminally implies that you should be listening to it. The right side of the magazine advert uses plain colours, grey, black and white to attract attention to the album cover.

       2. Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding's magazine advertisement for her album Lights is very similar to her digipak. This creates a visual link so when people see her digipak on the shelves in HMV they will recognise it. Also, unlike Pixie Lotts magazine advert, Ellie Goulding has comments and ratings from critics which leads the audience to believe the album is as good as the critics say it is.

  3. Adele

Adele's magazine advertisement for her album 21 has very clear visual links to the digipak cover. The close-up of her face, the shadow on one side and the black and white theme allows the audience to recognise her album on the shelves. The yellow and white font is very simple just like her album and magazine advert covers. This promotes Adele as a very simple artist with simple music videos and perhaps slow paces songs which is true.
