- The production of music has always been on vinal, long play and tapes. Today however, most music is recorded for MP3 formats.
- The distribution of music before has been by TV, word of mouth and radio. Today music is distributed via the internet such as social networking sites and youtube. However the internet being so avalible to everyone, it makes it easy to illegaly download music which decreases the amount of music CD sales.
- The exchange of music has always been to buy the whole CD of the artist from shops such as HMV. Today you can pay online for just a particular song online from iTunes.
