Planning for music video- Original music video

Jessie J- Who you are
Our group finally decided on the song we wanted to use for our music video; Jessie J "who you are". Initially we wanted to use Jessie J's 'whos laughing now' song but we were advised by our teachers that it was not such a good idea due to the music video she already has. Through the song she is reminiscing her child hood ad so the video illustrates everything in the lyrics. For us to do this video it would have been very hard as its difficult to get away from the whole illustration concept. For this reason we decided to choose a slower and less known song so that we could make it our own.
When we made the decision of choosing Jessie J 'who you are' we were aware that she did not have a music video for that song so we were quite pleased as we could make our own interpretation of it. However, two days later she released her video and to our surprise the video contained some of our ideas.

Analysis of her video and how our one will differ.
This video only features Jessie J singing to the camera. She's alone in a simple room, the video does not illustrate the lyrics but its also not irrelevant. The audience can see what she's trying to say through her acting. However, in our music video the artist will not be the character but the observer. We want other people to be acting and the artist to be an omniscient character- just observing. We intend to have a teenage girl acting as if she has a really low self-esteem due to bullying. With this we will be doing one of Andrew Goodwins's structures of music a video-amplification. This video is only filmed in one place, however we want to film in different places to show our storyline but have the bedroom as our base track shot.
This video contains a lot of close-ups of Jessie J (artist) this is obviously to promote her, we intend to do the same but we are going to have close ups of the actress too.
The location this video uses is very similar to the one we want to use but in our minds we imagine more of a white room with white furniture and a big mirror. We believe that this type of room will be appropriate for our storyline.
