PLANNING - Analysis of original video

Jessie J's video idea is similar to ours with the idea of it being set in a bedroom, so me and my group have decided to use this 'similar setting', with a 'different twist.'

One difference that will be made is the number of characters involved.  In Jessie J's video, it's her both singing and acting and it is always her in every shot, but in ours there will be a clear division between the narrator/singer and the actress.  Similar to Lil Wayne's How To Love and Ludacris' Runaway Love, the narrator/artist is going to be 'invisible' to the actress.

In both videos mentioned above, the actors in the videos are unaware of the artist's presence, almost like a 'guardian angel' situation.  This will have a good effect in the video as the song is a very strong soulful tune, and it will suit the story well.
Jessie J's video is also quite simple in relation to different types of camera movement and shots.  It works well though because of the way the props have been carefully placed.  In our music video, we hope to use a range of different shots as well as movement, and possibly a lot of slow motion effects like she has done in the original video.  Some aspects such as this need to be added to create a better effect for the video.
