Vernalis's Theory

Vernalis's Theory

Vernalis argues that music videos are edited to the beat of the actual song whether it be fast song or a slow song.

With that being said here is a video of a music video which has been edited with the beat in mind.

The camera movement in Dev Ft The Cataracs - Bass Down Low has been used within the beat of the song which makes the editing of this song fast.

A master shot of Blur - Park Life is when the chorus of the song comes in and the singer of the song reaches out to the camera which gives the music video itself a lot of structure.

A jump cut which has been used a lot in a music video to gain a motif to its audience is Kanye West Ft Rihanna - All of the lights. I would say that this song has a motif because it is expressing the 'lights' which have been used in the video with different coloured lighting in the video.
